Feature Fridays #3
We are over the halfway mark and already showed off some amazing musical developments on Wednesday…but we have another big collaboration to discuss on this week’s Feature Friday!
Campaign Updates
Stretch Goals
Since our last update you smashed another stretch goal for each title.
Looks like both teams are going to be busy!
Here’s the key info on the new goals!
- More Gadgets(CLEARED!)
-
The ever-important gadgets characters will increase, giving them an even more diverse set of Actions to choose from.
Not only will this add to the strategy in dungeons and make them more interesting, but it will add more visual style to the game and hopefully increase your affection towards the characters as well. - Player’s Notes(125,000,000 yen)/[Approx. $876,000]
-
We will implement a mode where you can check the things you’ve encountered during your adventure.
Each record will be different for each player, so it will become a great memorial for your personal adventure. - Vehicle Racing Time Attack(130,000,000 yen)/[Approx. $906,000]
-
We will implement a mini-game where players can use the in-game car or airship to race on the World Map to compete for the fastest times on a course.
By beating certain times, you get a reward. And by getting higher rankings, you get special rewards as well. - HINT: Babel Fish(????yen)
-
Until we find out what it is, guess what the upgrade will be.
Community Game
This is not good. The Kaleido Echidna is doing serious damage to Suseri.
The Penny Blood community is going to need to pull together if they want to be able to clear all their goals.
The Armed Fantasia fans are also going to have to pull together as well, since they haven’t been able to cast the ice and fire attacks yet!
A reminder for the Machida-san meme: you only need to send a written idea for what Machida-san’s next life choice should be.
Fishing? Sushi chef? Disco dancing? You tell us! Send a DM to the Penny Blood Twitter or drop us an E-mail at

Merchandise Updates
Having two titles in one Kickstarter, multiple add-ons, and upgrades is confusing to say the least.
We recognize that as the case and will be putting together an in-depth FAQ about the various merchandise to answer many of the questions we have.
Thank you for your patience on this.
Kickstarter Call-out
Today’s call-out is very special to us.
On Monday, another JRPG legend, Meguro Shoji announced his own Kickstarter campaign.
Straight talk here: launching any Kickstarter campaign is terrifying!
You only get to show off a piece of your project and have to hope that people have enough faith in you to fund that dream 2-3 years in advance.
That takes a huge amount of bravery and there aren’t a lot of people in 2022 with that level of faith!
But Meguro-san is doing something even braver.
He has gone independent and is embracing the indie dream.
Not like us by using veteran developers with scaleable teams, but primarily by doing most of the work on his own.
Admittedly, he still plans to improve the game over the next year or two, but if you’ve already supported us, we very sincerely hope you can go over to his page and support his efforts as a true indie developer as well.
We wanted to help in any way we could, so we are offering Guns Undarkness as an add-on to our campaign.
AND! Meguro-san is allowing us to sell it for a discount!
While this will NOT add to our stretch goals and we will be transferring any proceeds from the Guns Undarkness add-on to Meguro-san, he will add that amount onto his base pledges to unlock future stretch goals for Guns Undarkness.
This may be a crowdfunding collaboration unlike any other but it will still function like all other Kickstarters!
If you want to purchase other kinds of merchandise, there are other great rewards available from the Guns Undarkness Kickstarter campaign.
Please check it out here!
Content Updates
This week has been all about music, so we are putting up interviews from Elements Garden’s very own Noriyasu Agematsu.
Interview with Composer Noriyasu Agematsu
Kaneko comments – Mr. Agematsu
When it comes to what I think music should be, whether it be in games or anime, Mr. Agematsu is one of the only composers who can express what I want at a very high level.
What I find amazing is despite the fact that I know nothing about common music ideas or music theory, he takes any requests I make in my musical orders head on.
But more than anything else, Mr. Agematsu always seems to have limitless ideas.
My works always benefit from his passionate music.
Thus ends an amazing week in JRPG music!
Please join us on Monday for another great Mechanics Monday!
