November 2022 Update

It’s starting to get cold over here in Japan but there is no other perfect time to crack open a JRPG than this!
We’ve seen some people talking on Discord about replaying some of the previous games Kaneko-san and Machida-san have created and it continues to inspire us!

Campaign Updates

We have largely finished organizing our survey questions and the Backerkit store is under construction.
Unfortunately, it’s taken a bit longer than expected so the Backerkit store launch won’t occur until December.
To set expectation the Backerkit store will be different from the main campaign in the following ways:

  • It will no feature any of the in-game premium rewards
  • Most rewards will be about 10% higher than they were for the main campaign
  • All “combo” rewards will NOT be available so you would need to purchase things a la carte

As always, all additional funds go towards development of the game and are really helpful at this stage so if you know anyone interested in great JRPGs please do point them towards the Backerkit store once it is open.
We have heard from many people that they missed the original campaign but want to support the projects so word of mouth is absolutely essential.

Development Updates

This month, we’ve got another project progress update from Kaneko-san.

Armed Fantasia Monthly Report

Overall

As with before, we’re working on getting the specs for every part of the game to be more concrete.

We’ve started to work on the blueprint of the overall game, what is known as the First Playable version.
We’re discussing overall and minute details between both companies as we go.

We’ve begun negotiating with publishers.
Currently, we’ve had offers from many companies.
Right now we’re carefully going over their conditions.

Story

We’re still working on the story.
We’ve currently got it scheduled to be finished by the end of the year.
We’ve finished from the opening to the ending, but it hasn’t been edited and is incomplete.

Characters

We have rough designs and extras for the two new important characters we ordered last month.
The quality is much higher than we had originally imagined, so we’re looking into what they would look like as models.

The Character Designers estimate they will have Iconocluster finished by the end of the year.

Anomaly designs are also progressing.
We’ve got an overall list finished, but the final check isn’t finished because it needs to be checked against the plot.

Battle

We’re currently plotting out all the ARM skills and Force Breaks.

Field

We’re still considering gadgets and vehicles.

We’re checking out a prototype dungeon.
We’re checking things like movement speed and dungeon scope as a way to measure other dungeons in the future.

We’re preparing for location design on the world map and dungeons.

BGM

We’re preparing specs for all the music we’re going to order during the rest of the year.
