October 2022 Update
Hello there JRPG fans!
We wanted to slide in our first monthly update right before Halloween.
Campaign Updates
The funding has arrived and we finally have our finalized backer report which is allowing us to build out the backerkit store.
The goal is to get this and the survey finalized in November.
For those of you unfamiliar with crowdfunding, the survey is incredibly important because it’s our one chance to get your proper answers for many key questions and it can only be sent once so we have to double and triple check our work before sending it out.
Don’t worry though, you’ll be able to reach out to customer service and alter your answers until about 6 months before launch but this will allow us to get a majority of the key data that we need.
After that we will be getting you your discord roles so thank you for your patience in advance.
Development Updates
The following is an announcement from Kaneko-san:
Armed Fantasia Monthly Report
Overall
Right now we’re going over the overall specs and deciding how to divide up the budget.
So we’re working out more concrete ways we’re going to do the specs for everything.
We’re at the stage of counting out how many of each type of asset we’re going to need to produce.
I imagine we’ll be able to get this more set in stone once the story is complete.
Story
Work on the story was halted during the campaign, but work has begun once again.
We’ve got an overall idea of what the story is going to look like.
While I’ve been going through the story points for each character, I’ve got tons of ideas that will take lots of man-hours to put into the game.
We’re considering what to do with them with our limited budget.
Characters
We’re taking the finished designs and making 3D models of them for verification.
We’ve started working on the harder parts of the models.
We’re working on the differences between the main characters, and we also ordered two more new characters and are working on them.
Once the story is finished, we will give more attention to the details of the characters.
We’re deciding the overall number of monsters and making a list of them so that monster design can progress.
Battle
We’re deciding what all of the skills associated with each of the nine ARM types will be.
We’re also thinking up what the command transitions will be like while keeping the battle system we want in mind.
Field
We’re thoroughly considering what gadgets each character will have.
Our current concern is whether or not gadget functionality or vehicle functionality will overlap with other items in the same category.
We’re also creating an imageboard for the first town and dungeon in the game.
